“Caroline served as doula for the birth of our son in December 2005. My husband and I interviewed several doulas before we found Caroline. We immediately felt very comfortable with her. We sensed that she would be on top of things, allowing us to relax and enjoy the experience more. She stood out from other candidates because of her air of confidence and her organization. My husband and I like to plan for things and be as prepared as possible. Caroline is the same way. She offered to run through different scenarios that could potentially happen at our birth so that we would be prepared and know how to handle each situation. This helped me relax in the weeks before labor.

Caroline is very knowledgeable about pregnancy and childbirth. She was able to answer any questions we had or was willing to research the answer for us. One way in which her knowledge was helpful to us was in being prepared for the standard hospital procedures. We had no idea about the multitude of tests that would be performed on our son shortly after his birth. Caroline helped us formulate a birth plan (“wish list”) that explained to our healthcare team our wishes for how and when these procedures should take place. We were very happy with the outcome.

The quality of Caroline’s work and her work ethic are impeccable. She fully prepared us prenatally as well as helping us through our labor. When I was losing focus Caroline was standing behind me coaching me on how to push. When I requested pain medication (which Caroline knew I really didn’t want), she was there to encourage me to wait a little longer. I truly do not believe I would have had the natural childbirth I was hoping for if she had not been there to support me. She was truly an advocate on my behalf. Her caring back rubs made the hardest contractions bearable.

Caroline’s personality is one that allows you to feel like instant friends. She is warm and caring while still being able to be organized and in charge of things. We enjoyed having her at the birth of our son and will think of her fondly as we remember that wonderful experience of meeting him for the first time.”

I felt awful calling her on such an important occasion, but she rushed right to my side and was there through the entire birth. Having her there made things go so smoothly. “It was my pleasure to be able to meet and work with Caroline Schleappi after the recent birth of my son. I came across her on the internet and was impressed with her website. We got in touch for a lengthy phone interview and she explained the multitude of services she offers as a Doula, as well as her past and present professional experience.
